August 2nd Update
I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer. It is nice to see the sun!
I just wanted to give you a quick update.
Circuit Breaker applications are now available. With the budget shortfall, the number of applications being printed to hand out are being limited. The best way to apply is online. You can fill out the application online here…. http://www.maine.gov/revenue/taxrelief/tnr.htm. If you would like a printed application, please call Maine Revenue Services at 626-8475.
This week the Utilities and Energy Committee along with the Public Utilities Commission will be meeting with FERC Commissioner Spitzer to discuss Maine’s transmission issues and what is happening on the Federal level.
In a few weeks, I hope to take a tour of the Kibby wind power project in Western Maine. It will be quite exciting to see an actual wind power project. Wind power has a huge future in Maine.
In the next couple of weeks, the Utilities and Energy Committee will be meeting to discuss some important issues and confirm the new Efficiency Maine Board of Trustees.
I recently visited the Capital with my two boys, Kyle (10) and Aaron (13). After our visit to the Capital we had lunch in the Cross Cafe and then visited the Maine Museum. It was a nice day trip (very affordable too!). We all enjoyed the artwork in the Capital and the very informative displays at the museum.
