This is the week that we begin in Augusta. A lot of difficult decisions will need to be made this year. My first day in session this year will be Wednesday, January 7th. We convene at 10 am in the House.

On Wednesday after session, 80 legislators and others will be heading off for a bus trip of Northern Maine. The trip is provided at no cost to us by the Maine Development Foundation. We will be visiting Bangor, Orono, Millinocket, Presque Isle, Mars Hill, Indian Island, and Fort Kent. It will be a very informative trip. I hope to have some good photos to post when I return.

On Friday, January 9th, Governor Baldacci, after three days of hearings on the supplemental budget, will unveil his new two-year budget. As I get the information, I will post any links here. You can view the current supplemental budget here http://www.maine.gov/budget/budgetinfo/fy09supplbudget.htm.
